Established in 1974, the Rutherglen Beefsteak and Burgundy Club is Branch Club of the Beefsteak and Burgundy Club.
We meet monthly, predominantly on the third Thursday, to enjoy meals together. With nine dinners annually, each event is hosted by a different club member who selects a restaurant within the Rutherglen, Albury Wodonga, Wangaratta, Beechworth, or surrounding areas, ensuring a variety of settings.
The format for these dinners includes four courses:
For each dinner the Club Member hosts work with the restaurant to pair each dish with appropriate wines, creating a cohesive dining experience. This collaboration aims to offer a balanced and enjoyable evening, focusing on the relationship between food and wine.
A unique feature of the club is its wine cellar, managed by the Club Cellar Master. This collection comprises wines from local, Australian, and international sources, each chosen for its quality and stored until deemed at its best for drinking. These wines are then available for use during the club dinners, allowing members to experience a range of wines at their peak.
